Life's goals

I haven't written in this blog for a long time. Why? Well I have been trying to sort my life out. Have I achieved those goals? XD not exactly but hey I have had some life changing experiences that have milder me into a better person...or some shit like that. Working towards a career backfired, I have been jumping from place to place but either people or circumstances have been against me. From beautician at Nenigeit at Covent Garden where I witnessed r ism ride in the heart of London from my manager, you may have heard of her Lisa potter Dixon. She pretty much bullied people, removed their commission and put on her target sheet, she could never hit her targets as she was busy skiving off work getting massages and getting her minions to cover her to head office. Now she stands a name people may know but surrounded by lemmings who do her budding and conform to her view of beauty. Apart from lamenting becoming a freelancer, I was pretty darn good at selling because I believed in the brand, the products I thought had great standing in the market but with family problems and targeted harassment from Lisa, I fell into a pit of negativity and decided to leave when a college got sacked for theft. Now this was interesting, she pretended to be my friend but used me as cannon fodder I was her escape goat. When it came down to the last few accusations I was abroad and finally staff searched her bag at a party and all was revealed. This led me to working at Ethnic multicultural media awards aka Emma Awards - I started interning for the website and was hoping to see the workings of the award ceremonies. Celebrating the elite in diversity which people such as Nelson Mandala, Mohammad Ali, Amir Khan and more - I was proud to be part of s publication honouring lesser known people due to their race. Unknown to me that the office held home to the biggest racist, narcissist, monster who I dealt with for the next three and a half years... To be continued

I couldn't sleep so I decided to write all my bother out and this is what I ended up with:


Corked In

Time passes you by,
Life engulfs you with decisions and wants,
but whilst pleasing yourself and the many you can't help but try,
Things don't necessarilly go the way we hope,
Persistance is key but mayb e we need to listen to those annoying cries.

The cries start as nags more approipraitely instructions,
Some find it difficult to follow but is it always the best to lead?
To show the way can attract the air of solemnity or sorrow,
Why choose responsibility when you can follow?
To prove yourself make a mark in the time,
Leave the past behind.

Those nags gradually turn to pleading cries,
"Don't go..." why listen it's not my problem it dosen't fit in my life,
Does it ever occur to you that your life conflicts with others?
The strings of fate can altered by a whim but the bonds of family cannot,
Maybe it is time for you to open the curtain and see the big picture.

I am waiting for you, for an interval, at some point,
But it must have came and went,
Laughing now at the little jokes from before I didn't get,
but time has evaporated and now the moment is spent,
Let it be spoken with real effect of my feelings of melancholy and regret.

Hyper Japan Feb 24-26th

Yes it's that time of year where we go Hyper, hyper for Japan ^^

One of my favourite movie distributers will there again for the third year running Third window and as they like to put it: Third Window Films works hard to bring you the wonderful world beyond long-haired ghost films and mindless Hollywood action copies, sourcing the finest works in new Far Eastern cinema. We strive to represent a rich variety of film genres, be they dramas, comedies, political satires, action or anything else in between. Expect everything from the unknown and cult to the off-beat and even the occasional mainstream masterpiece... or expect nothing but quality Asian cinema!

^--- and the above is true, they have even arranged some top class events and brought down directors and actresses for the audiences disposal - for q and a not torture silly!

Sake Awards 2012 - i nearly got a bit sqiffy after a few, so they know their stuff so get to the right place at the right time for some free tasty sake.

Natsuko Aso is our live entertainment she has released two original albums and eight singles in Japan. She’s also been announced as the artist who will be recording the ending theme song for the second series of Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, which will be broadcast from January 2012 onwards.

No Japanese event is complete without the Cosplay Awards <3 Maybe I should compete this year ? What about you guys?

Roxie Sweetheart will be selling her super kawaii jewelry, from the moment I saw her stuff a year ago, i knew plastic was fantastic - lol too cliche? XD Go check her stuff out!

FF creators @ MCM Midlands Expo

The MCM Expo may be a huge event in London but the event in the Midlands is really catching up. It has just been announced that the creator of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Chrono Trigger, Hironobu Sakaguchi, will be attending the event on the 18th February.

This famous developer will be in the UK to talk about the widely anticipated release of The Last Story for Wii, ahead of its UK release next month. Fans will get the chance to see what the game is all about while seeing the man himself. MCM Expo have also put out the call for questions to ask Hironobu Sakaguchi prior to the event, if you have any questions then please send them to david@mcmexpo.net and the top three will be put to Mr. Sakaguchi at the show.

I go to MCM twice a year at the Excel docklands and I'm royally gutted i won't be able to attend the Midlands one seeing the FF creators...simply to tell them their title song in the ads sucks. Stick to Nobuo Uematsu please. Ps. Moogle lead about time :D

Hyper Japan 2011 - hyped up?

Well Hyper Japan this July was certainly up tot he 'hype'!

Having been to the previous modest Hyper Japan in 2010 where even Jonathan Ross came to see what all the comotion was about, this year Hyper Japan showed it's popularity had grown 5 fold.

From approaching the queue on saturaday which almost reached the station from Olympia 2. After all the excitment of seeing lavish lolitas adorned in their colourful wigs and matching parasols I knew I was in for a treat. Upon entering and receiving a program I started marking my map for everything I wanted to see and in the ocean of people that wasn't easy. This venue was double the size of the previous Hyper Japan and now with two floors, come armed with cash and spare carrier bags people, I wasn't going to leave empty handed.

Following the loud shouts I could tell a lot was oging on by the main stage with live sushi sessions, sake tasting and my personal favourite Kanon Wakeshima was performing too! This is one funky J-pop lolita cellist playing from the age of 3,eventually got a deal with Sony label DefSTAR Records; all by the time she was 18! She even stayed to do autoographs, check her out! Her and other entertainers came in adi for the Tsunami appeal for Japan where a raffle was being held daily and cherry blossam badges were being sold to help raise money for the cause.

Amongst the stalls of pretty prints from Deviant art and youtube sensations busking were some unusal sights like the ITK robots with moving hands and event he electronic toilet display! Occasionally I stopped for a rest and a quick sugar fix from Cyber Candy and was bombared with free samples of Sushi from Yo sushi and Yakult! I managed to find rrom rare art books to colourful cosplay outfits and kitch t shirts from Genki Gear too. My only regret was not being able to get a Japanese style photo in Yukata and wig posing with a samurai sword. Next time you better belive it I'll be armed with a samurai sword umbrella too ! Fun for all, I even saw an Official Toei Animation Lufi (from One Piece) hi fiving an elderly gentleman, all around people were pleased, two floors of Japanese culture to the max. I was even invited to watch Japan Crafts make origami animals and craft beutiful cards.

The atmosphere was electric and friendly, people mingling in the bustling Maid Cafe and swapping DS friend codes at Nintendo Unleashed - who also launched a competition for answering a Zelda question to attain a limited edition Ocarina, needless to say i won one with my vast years of gaming :p

This is one my favourite events of the year so far educational and entertaining, I will be sure to follow up in 2012.

2. Season's Greetings from the Streets red DIY

Here we go again with my next diy project.

I ordered some cool retro tee''s from 80stees.com and if you spend over $50 (inevitable) they reward you with a free Sesame Street t, please see Mr hip modeling the shirt below:



As you can see this is a male t-shirt and well I ain't :p

Sooo what does one do with a free t-shirt? I didn't pay for it so let's shred this baby down to size. *puts on shades*

1. Turn the top inside first. Slim down the sleeves about 3inches so as to have space to wear a long sleeved top under (yes I like layer)

2. Let's make it figure hugging, I pinned with safety pins then I made a rought stitching at all the vital points, at the arm pit, next to the bust then at the waist and lastly at the stomach area, this should work out to an hour glass figure but ha we're all different shapes.

4. get big scissors and chop that tight neck piece off. (for this piece, I wanted the off the shoulder look) Then folded the rough edges in and stitched over.

Check out the shirt after I hacked it, I bet you thought I did a Freddie.

DIY: re-inventing my Wardrobe #1

So I finally plucked up the courage and patience to take apart an awful top from my past.

I'm quite lazy and put off challenging tasks till tomorrow (more realistically next year), this time the thought took me only a month.

It makes me look fat and it rides up but I do love the shruggy thing and the leopard print wasn’t too bad so rather than banish it to the charity pile I thought I’d give it another chance to redeem itself. I’m no Gok Wan but I do have an idea.

and trust me this was the only half decent photo I could attain.

I removed the stitching from the shrug tot he top - straight forward huh? Nope! The back of the shirt was a completely different material, it was a plain black.

Lucky for me I had other rejects in my wardrobe so I mixed and matched instead.

I decided to cut the originally black front ruched bustier from the wench style black top - no before pics I’m afraid but here is the after pic, I made the top more flattering to me and less revealing !!! Not bad, considering it's my first real DIY project.

Lack Lustre Life

You know the world is slowly dissolving into a pit of regression and compromise when an English Literature graduate can only get a job as a evening nurse at a vet. I shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a needle no less injecting a living being with it.

Rather than shoveling research, one must shovel shit. LOL!

I feel so zombified, food poisoning is soooo unbecoming - though it was nice to have a day of slouching and Jammy Wagon Wheels :)

Not even a trip to "Gamestation" can revive my hope of this depression/recession ending any time soon. It should be mandatory that men should drool then bow down on sight of any female buying a shooting game; this includes House of the Dead - this is one mother-fucking hard game.

Japanese Club Night/CW hair awards Nov 2010

SO i had my Charles Worthington apprenticeship awards today, I had to get it re trimmed and boy was it super shiny like a brand new foil Pokemon card crisp out of the plastic wrapper. As you can see it's shaved a little but an altogether asymmetric bob with undercut (the shaved bit) Hollie (hairdresser) dyed only the shaved bit to highlight the cut.

The overall experience was interesting, I got to go to the L'Oreal Headquaters in Shepard's Bush I had to practice doing the catwalk in my ridiculously high purple high heels (with electric pink stripes) - lol i bought these from a sports shop next to Marble Arch tube station. Hell yeah check me out in the shower :p




Also a couple of weeks ago I got invited to to this Japanese Club Night by by a few mates, didn't know thye were into Japanese stuff too!

Lol didn't have a clue about how to get there from Shepard's Bush and with the train strikes I was proverbially f**** but at least the tubes were working somewhat, i knew it was near Euston station as I trecked here many years ago to help do the door for my friends Indie Bingo night there.

Changed into my flats and managed to follow the dodgy buses and there I was, all the wristbands had run out so I got a smilie face drawn on my hand lol. By the time I arrived I missed the artistic ballon person and managed to catch 1/2 of a cover band,
walking into hear a ripped version of 'Here it is Merry Xmas' in Japanese :p

Kareoke was fully booked, we snooped but ended up playing this arcade fighting game called Blazeblue, needless to say i was awful but loving it.

A night of laughs, drinks, pretty Japanese singers, fake lashes and cosplay portraits!

Campaign to being kicked out

Lol, would you believe it the advertising company we were working with on the Anit-Fascist campaign who took control of the reigns of the project and pretty much kept us in the dark - they are kicking us out of the building.

Unbelievable! Saatchi & Saatchi were even PAID by my boss -he dosen't pay anyone in this company so that's a privilege! What I am most displeased about is the fact he (CEO) has been in that building since 1996 paying 50 grand a year without fail, now he's come across money problems (not surprised, he fritters everything on silly lavish things to make himself look classy, rich - which he clearly isn't). So We barely launched the campaign on time due to the snootey-ness of S&S they too their sweet ass time to make swastika prints - which were UPSIDE DOWN - for flip sake it took me a brown nose to notice and correct them. Did i get thanked or given a sign of gratitude, chocolate, money, bling - NOPE!

Well we were officially locked out on monday and poor Jun had to go through the whole process of having his card not work, then talk to the grumpy receptionist then some strange man telling him : 'Speak to Bobby.' What a load of crap - they can't even let us get our stuuf? Lawyers will ahve to egt involved but what upsets me the most is all my medication is int hat office- allergy tablets, pain killers, spot cream - Jeeze how am I supposed to live for the next 2-4 weeks? (who knows when they will give us permission to take our stuff...). So un-professional plus my boss has the biggest mouth in the country he will spread ill will to all in the media industry and blanken their name for it- they really need to reconsider their stupidity - they are an establish marketing/advertising company they don't need this lame PR over them.

Also found out through one of the receptionists they house a charity in the building for free! We are technically one too - we haven't made money in 4 years, it's all to help the community, extinguish the BNP rise...educate people in social cohesion.

I'm so annoyed. i'll see if I can book an appointment with the doctors tomorrow to get more meds - I feel itchy just know I don't have them - whether they work or not...

Money is on it's way

I had my induction today with Bola from Creative Process - a scheme by the (labor) Government to help the unemployed into good fields of work for at least 6 months to create a good CV and experience for themselves.

Bascially it's to increase the social networking capability aka making more of a presence on the internet for businesses. Fromt he previous interview with Bola & jack they loved the project I'm working on (EMMA) so they would pay me part time (£150 a week un taxed) to stay there - any extra days is voluntary and I'd expect my boss to carry paying expenses. Hopefulyl i'd get a NewDeal discount travel card for the 6 months too...

It was an interesting session, she did iq tests, personality tests on me and another guy called Joseph. I was classed as a good communicator and had the body image of a type 3 - super hero - lol I'm a giver and passionate about what i stand for and do. I will have to however motivate others and manipulate to get the best out of them. De-ligating is something that i need to work on as I probably take too much on (hell yeah!)

At around 2pm it all finished, Bola was particularly taken aback by Joseph who seemed to have a good selection of strengths and no stigmas holding him back (aka Batman issues) even I was surprised, you meet few people without chips on their shoulders - also he was cute too and in a band 'don't wait animate' (had dabbled at mencer too).

I then realized I had a few missed calls from Jun & a random text from bobby saying 'DON'T come to the office, contact me and I'll explain...' My instant reaction was to call Jun - he picked up and explained he was locked out of the office. It was going to happen sooner or later, I was silly enough to take it easy and left all my anti-histamines & pain killers there. i'll ave to book another appointment with the docs to get more- who knows how long it will take for Saatchi & Saatchi to authorised us to go back in and get our stuff.

24 City a Documentary Spurning Realism

24 City a Documentary for the Working ClassThe third in Pan Asian Film festival hosting the pre release of 24 City at Piccadilly Apollo. After sinking into the luxury seats you are already in the mood to get on with the cinematic experience. Featuring an introduction to new faces & loyal followers, Malcolm McNeil representative of Asian House welcomes us to 24 City. Shown at the luxury Apollo cinema off Piccadilly Circus, which has their own bar downstairs as well as velvet covered seats and a waiting area where you can sit in individual booths in style before your film starts.

The beginning starts with the frame focused on a middle ages slim man. His wrinkles give away his age and his eyes display sorrow. His was a worker at Factory 420.
Over three generations, we meet eight characters in a documentary style film. They were old workers, factory executives and kids growing up in the sector and their stories build a picture of what China was during the production of aeronautic parts.

Director, Jia Zhang Ke, states: ‘Present‐day films rely more and more on action and movement. In this film, I wanted to return to spoken language. Here, narration is taken as a kind of movement to be captured by the camera.’ True to his word the film moves from anecdote from each character with progressions of the Factory 420 being explained through the shots of the decay, left over machinery, new showing the renovation and development of the new apartment complex 24 City.

Most of the people featured are real inhabitants of the factory but with a few leading cast to not detract away from the realism. Joan Chen plays Gu Minhua or ‘Little Flower’ her beauty got her the title of ‘standard component’ meaning the flower of the factory. This beautiful woman who had to go to the factory purely as there was no room in her house. This causes difficulty in her getting married as she felt she was far too superior to the men in her home town but too shy to pursue any in the factory.

Though creating military was not the most glamorous, the benefits given to the people involved were immense at the time, whether it be a kilo of meat a month, private education for children, 10 yuan a week or uniforms it was all quite luxurious for the time they lived in.

Therefore when the decline loomed and people started to be laid off, it really affected them and their families. We don’t have much special effect or any action scenes given it were a factory for weapons, but all that superficial stuff wasn’t needed. An eye opener for people who lived on the outside.

24 City seemed to be no more than a hollow husk of memories and to quaote my mother who came to see this with me: 'What did I do to deserve such torture watching this movie?' not really a crowd pleaser.

Seriously thought saying that about a 64 'all her life Labour voter' - it kind of makes you sick and he claims it was said in the 'heat of the moment'. Big boo boo PM Brown!

Now all the political parties are penalizing him and criticizing the way of Labour.

Even the BNP are getting pissy with him, wanting to do a last minute campaign against them. I swear they are more bigoted than any other entity on this planet? Check out their new immigration policies - giving foreigners 50,000 grand to leave the country - 'voluntarily of course!

I can't believe i'm late

Damn you national rail! My stomache is growling & I got up early to make a good example to the interns since my late mornings - side effects from food poisoning. Guess wot? My 8.36 train has been cancelled, now i'm on the wrong train 30mins late! Why? The boss will freak if he calls the office & i'm not there. I'm more upset from fridays events. Laila quit on tuesday night. It was all abit messy, she the week b4 gave the keys to someone else intending not to come in & without telling the boss who was actually in the office. I thought it was a bit odd. I wasnt in the office due to day off but... I think the boss went overboard on her, if i'd got to her 1st first they both Wud have had the argument. Yikes poor rose got suck in the middle. Well after that crap I tried to smooth things over but Laila clearly had an attitude even after the boss apologsed 2 her. Zoe was asking a lot of questions too, making me suspicious, didnt help her & Laila discussed the bosses conversation. I have gossiping. Needless to say out
